Save yourself time by integrating with RentRedi to import all of your properties' payment information.

REI Hub and RentRedi have partnered to better serve their mutual customers by integrating their respective services. RentRedi customers can now add REI Hub to their RentRedi subscription, enabling the custom-built integration that will import all payments processed through RentRedi into REI Hub.

This prevents you from having to manage your payment information in both your property management system and your accounting system- saving you serious time.

Some important things to know:

  • The integration must be activated from your RentRedi account. RentRedi manages subscription and billing for all integration customers.

  • Existing REI Hub subscribers who wish to add the integration must activate the integration through RentRedi and then contact REI Hub support for assistance in merging portfolios.

  • Payments are automatically imported from RentRedi and immediately recognized for taxes. Therefore, all deposits in your linked bank accounts corresponding to these payments should be booked as a Transfer Between Accounts or RentRedi Deposit to prevent double booking revenue.

  • Payments electronically processed through RentRedi, and payments manually marked as paid in RentRedi are handled differently.

Getting Started and Portfolio Set Up

To activate the integration between RentRedi and REI Hub, go to your RentRedi account. Follow the prompts to Add Accounting to your RentRedi subscription. This is the only way to activate the integration - subscribing to RentRedi and REI Hub independently will not do it.

After you activate the REI Hub accounting add-on to your RentRedi subscription, the custom integration will create a new REI Hub portfolio with all the properties and units in your RentRedi account. The system will import all historic RentRedi payment transactions, including both electronically processed payments and manually marked as paid payments.

In your new REI Hub portfolio, you will be prompted to create a password and to (optionally) enter Estimated Market Values for your properties.

The recommended next step is to link your operating bank and credit card accounts to securely import transactions and save manual data entry.

Payments Imported Through the Integration

Payments are imported from RentRedi differently based on how they are processed and recorded in RentRedi. Click here to learn about payments processed through RentRedi.

As payments are imported from RentRedi to REI Hub in real-time, they are immediately recognized for taxes with the appropriate property, unit, revenue, and expense information.

Any imported deposits in your linked bank accounts associated with RentRedi payments should be booked as a RentRedi Deposit or a Transfer Between Accounts. This prevents double-booking your revenues, as that information has already been brought in through the integration.

RentRedi manages subscription and billing for all customers utilizing the integration, as it is only available by adding REI Hub to your existing RentRedi subscription.

Please contact the RentRedi support team with questions about subscription, billing, and payment information. The REI Hub support team cannot access this information and cannot process changes on your behalf.

Existing REI Hub Subscribers

Current REI Hub subscribers who wish to take advantage of the integration will need to follow a similar process. You will need to add accounting to your RentRedi account to create a new REI Hub portfolio linked to RentRedi. If you have both a direct REI Hub subscription and an integrated account, you can combine them to consolidate your data and streamline your portfolio management. The merging process depends on factors such as the number of transactions in your direct account and whether historical data needs to be transferred. Reach out to the REI Hub Support Team to get these portfolios merged.

If your direct REI Hub subscription has relatively few transactions, the recommended approach is to manually re-enter those transactions into your integrated account. This method is faster and avoids the need for a full account merge, which can take additional time and resources.

  • Cancel your direct REI Hub subscription.

  • Manually input the transactions from your direct account into the integrated account. For accounts with a significant amount of historical data, you can request a full account merge. This process involves transferring your historical information into the new integrated account.

  • Sign up for the integrated account through your reseller (e.g., RentRedi).

  • Contact REI Hub support to request the merging of your historical data into the integrated account. Keep in mind that processing timelines and transaction thresholds may apply. For example, merges involving a high number of transactions may take up to 5 business days to complete.

Key Considerations

  • Transaction Volume: For accounts with low transaction volume, manual re-entry is faster and more efficient.

  • Processing Timelines: Full account merges may take several business days, depending on the number of transactions. Contact the REI Hub Support Team for more assistance with the portfolio merge process.

  • Reseller Integration: Ensure that your new account is properly linked to the reseller platform to enable seamless integration.

Canceling REI Hub Through RentRedi

  • To cancel, click on the left-hand side navigation menu at the top of the RentRedi page.

  • Click Accounting from your dashboard

  • Select Manage Plan

  • Click Cancel Plan

  • RentRedi's instruction article (with screenshots) is here if that resource is helpful.

After canceling RentRedi or unsubscribing from the REI Hub add-on through their platform, your account will typically remain active and accessible during the month of your cancellation until REI Hub receives an official cancellation notice from RentRedi, which usually happens on the first of the month following your cancellation. You can continue signing into your portfolio and keeping your books by visiting https://app.reihub.net.

After you receive an email from REI Hub notifying you of the account cancellation, signing into https://app.reihub.net will prompt you to reactivate your subscription through RentRedi or enter a payment method if you wish to reopen your portfolio directly with REI Hub.

Your financials will pick up where they left off, but without additional rent payments synced from RentRedi. Instead, you would book revenues from your bank import feeds, similar to how you currently handle expenses.
