Batch Editing Revenues or Expenses

Did you forget to apply a unit while booking revenues or expenses? Our batch editing tool is great for quickly editing these transactions.

The REI Hub system now includes the ability to edit multiple transactions at once from the Revenues and Expenses pages. This enables you to make changes faster than ever before when you decide to update a set of revenues or expenses.

Batch editing is only able to change details within a given transaction type; it does not allow you to change from one transaction type to another (for example, changing an expense to a fixed asset purchase).

To change transaction types, you should delete and re-book the transaction (if it originated from the import feed, the transaction will revert to unbooked status).

Currently, batch editing can update the selected transactions in the following ways:

  • Edit Scope: This will change the unit, property, sub-portfolio, or portfolio to which the transactions are booked.

  • Edit Account: This will change the specific revenue or expense account to which the transactions are booked.

  • Delete: This will delete the selected booked transactions. If the transactions originated from the Import Feed, they will revert to unbooked status. If they were entered manually, they will be removed entirely.

To Edit Multiple Transactions at One Time

1) Navigate to the Revenues or Expenses page

2) Click Batch Edit in the upper right corner and select the Batch Option

3) Optionally filter transactions as desired

  • The filter allows you to select a subset of your transactions if desired.

  • For example, you can filter by all of your expenses booked to a particular property, or booked to a particular expense account, and then batch edit that group of transactions.

4) Select the transactions you wish to modify

  • Check the box to the left of the transaction you wish to book or modify.

  • Check the box at the top of the transaction list (to the left of 'Date') to select all transactions on the page.

5) Select the desired Batch Option

6) Click the black button to execute your selected action

  • After clicking the action button, you will be asked to select the account or scope you are editing to, or confirm that you want to delete the transactions (depending on the batch edit option you selected).
