Recurring manual transactions is an optional REI Hub feature that allows you to create automatic manual transactions on either a monthly, quarterly, or annual cadence.
This feature is ideal for investors who use REI Hub by entering manual transactions, property managers who operate from one bank account and need to account for property owner's fees, house hackers who have calculated the percentage of personal vs business expenses and want to automate the rental portion, and for REI Hub users who operate in accrual basis.
This feature will create a recurring manual transaction that will be booked automatically depending on the frequency you choose.
β
Recurring imported transactions from a linked bank account should be booked using imported transaction matching rules from the import feed.
Enabling Recurring Manual Transactions
To enable this feature, click on the the three lines in the top right corner and open portfolio settings. Under "Enable Recurring Transactions," click "yes" and you'll see a new "Recurring Transactions" button under the Transactions Tab.
From the Recurring Transactions page, you'll be able to view the current recurring transactions established for your account. To add new one, click the "Add Recurring Transaction" button in the top right corner.
REI Hub currently supports three recurring transaction types: expense, revenue, and transfer.
Next, you'll be prompted to add the details of the transaction like the transaction's name, amount, property scope, expense account, and payment account. You can optionally add the details of the vendor and an additional description.
Then, you'll select the frequency and start date of the transaction. This feature currently supports adding transactions monthly, quarterly, or annually.
You can select the start date as a date in the past, today's date, or a date in the future. If you select a start date in the past (i.e. January 1), transactions will be automatically created for those months or quarters and will continue to be automatically created. If you create a date in the future, the system will wait until that date happens to start creating these recurring transactions. You can optionally include an end date.
Once you hit save, you'll be able to view your new recurring transaction.
View, Edit, or Archive Recurring Transactions
Click the white "View" button to look at the details of the recurring transaction. Only the name and end date of a recurring transaction can be edited. To make other changes, please archive this recurring transaction and create a new one.
Archiving a recurring transaction does not delete any past transactions that have already been created.
Delete an Individual Transaction Created from a Recurring Rule
To delete any transactions that were created from a rule, navigate to the Booked Transactions tab (found under Transactions), and delete the transaction. Deleting one will not affect the recurring transaction rule or any other transactions created from it.
